A strong USP will make you a market leader

The thing that sets your business apart from competitors is your USP (Unique Selling Proposition). It sums up in one sentence why a customer should choose you over your competitors.

There is so much choice in the market place that consumers no longer make decisions based purely on quality (top end) or price (bottom end). Most people now make decisions based on products and services that they can align and identify with. The more specific your USP, the better strike rate you will have.

How are you uniquely positioned to solve a problem?

Ask customers, staff, partners, affiliates, competitors and yourself. Then bring your best to the table with ASENZ to shape it into a profit making USP.

You need to be able to express your USP in one sentence. This is a hard ask but is well worth the effort as once people know what you are the best at and have proof that it is true, they will become loyal, repeat, referring customers.

A specific, powerful USP will fast track your business to profits. Great brands don't 'cover' the market, they corner the market. And this is where true wealth and success is found.

Generic claims do not make strong USPs

You might think you have a USP. But it pays to take a good, objective look at what is written on your marketing material. It is no good to claim that your business:
  • is the best
  • provides solutions
  • offers value for money
  • is the cheapest.
USPs that are too broad (provide 'solutions') will not capture attention. USPs that are too grandiose (are 'the best') are a turn off.

Connect your USP to specific online offers and sales promises

If you can guarantee a service time, price, experience or quality, this is a compelling online hook. Promising what you cannot deliver is a bad idea.

But a sales promise that creates desire in your customer and controlled risk for your business can be a great way to accelerate your growth and consolidate your USP.

There are lots of opportunities online to offer and deliver unique, valuable guarantees. Talk to ASENZ about how you can incorporate these into your communications, marketing funnel, online product development and social media strategies.

Feedback from others who have used this service

"Tina Robertson created the USP for our new business. Her investigation into our business venture and what it hoped to achieve was impressively thorough. It was not an easy business concept to articulate to people outside of the industry but Tina ‘got it’ immediately and came up with a USP that articulated what I do at the first attempt! She also helped us to create a name for my ‘role’ that made it stand out from the crowd. Thanks Tina, you are the best!"
